Lucy completed her Diploma in Children’s Nursing in 1995 before going on to work in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Addenbrookes.
Lucy next embarked on a career in Community Children’s Nursing where she worked for 11 years, looking after children and families in their own home and managing a team of nurses. Lucy was instrumental in setting up the Diana Community Children’s Nursing Team in Cambridge. Lucy’s last post before setting up Sunflowers was as the WellChild Nurse in Addenbrookes, ensuring the safe discharge home of Children with Complex Health Needs.

Danielle Proctor Commercial Director
Danielle started her career as a nurse in 1980 and went on to practice as a School Nurse Health Visitor and Director in nursing and human resources before leaving the NHS after 24 years to set up her own business. She has a real passion for public service and is a stickler for quality and putting people who need care and support at the heart of everything that health and social care professionals do.
Danielle has established a number of 'social purpose' organisations which deliver health and/or social care services. As a Director of Sunflowers Care, Danielle's role is to help Karen and Lucy to build the organisation and to make sure it operates as a successful and sustainable public service business.
Danielle is a mum of four grown up children and is happiest in her wellies, growing food for her family in her garden and tending to the flower beds.
